My Big Surprise:

I know you guys were probably expecting a review of Doctor Who's season finale. Don’t worry, I’ll get there. I just need some time to process and rewatch the entire season. First, let’s talk about the season premiere of My Lady Jane. I was lucky enough to be invited to an early private screening of My Lady Jane. This kind of show is not usually my thing. Kings and Queens are cool, but I usually prefer them in a fantasy setting. I’m just never that captivated by the romance plots that seem to be the driving force of the genre. However, I love a good theater, so I thought I would go and see what it was all about. The beginning was exactly what I was expecting. Upbeat music combined with dialogue filled with slang to juxtapose the era in which it is based. It is a plot about a woman having to marry and deal with that reality, which is standard in these films. Then, the most amazing thing happens. Something caught me completely off guard.
